Re: What I've been up to ... Musically...
Top stuff Phil. Not an easy skill at all to perfect. As I for one know only too well.... It should be camera law that anyone who owns a DSLR, should do a night of low light photography. Ps Kevin from BSR is my favourite image.

Re: mount cutting
I have recently started to cut windows in mount boards. As I consider it to be a more professional finish, when complete. Though a little more expensive. I have no knowledge of the cutter you refer to. I googled it and no response there either. In my experience, and Im sure others will have differin...

Re: My first proper attempt at a studio portrait.
This is turning into a very interesting discussion/critique of the skills of portrait photography. With some very good points being raised. For a first time effort Mel has done remarkably well. I for one congratulate him. Taking out the fact that one image has had extensive PP . The big difference, ...

Re: Where have they all gone?
Im surprised John that you of all people List Pentax as a manufacturer. When these days they are simply a brand. As all their merchandise is now manufactured by the Ricoh imaging systems Company... But at least they are, still around. As also are Sigma and Leica to name just a couple. Though I would...

Re: Top Ten Photographs That Changed The World
I think, when looking at the images you also have to consider the era's and lifestyles of people at the time. Pictures (albeit America) of foreign climbs were not an everyday occurrence to the common man. Communication wasn't then what it is today. Video was only for Hollywood. (You just couldn't Go...

Hi Dennis...
Yes, take your thoughts on the flag. As I had thought the same. It needs to be attached. If my manipulation skills, were of a standard to have straightened the building on the right and left just a sliver of it still in frame. I would have chosen that option..

Re: Empire State Building N.Y
Personally I loved this image. A great, in your face. tub thumping all American brand. A country united behind its flag, What did perplexed me a little. Was the building to the right. Should it be there, should it not. At first I thought it gave the picture scale and drama. The State building, punch...
