Hi Michael
I bought a Sigma 150-500mm lens on the recommendation from Jared, and I got it at Wilkinsons in Warrington - for £699 new - £50 cheaper than your quote. It has a long guarantee on it. Hope this is helpful.
Cheers

Re: Jason Bell's top 10 tips for photography
I've been told by more than one professional photographer that "There is no substitute for getting it right the first time" - which echoes Jason Bell's words, and I've seen landscape shots taken by an 18-year-old student "straight out of the camera" that are breathtaking. Somethi...

Re: Thursday 21st November 2013 - Paul Jones
I learned a lot from Paul's first instalment of "Portraiture", and I'm really looking forward to his second instalment. Paul has been guiding and mentoring me during the last few weeks during studio photo shoots with models (my friends Matt and Michelle). He's shown me various lighting set...

Re: Learning from Damien Lovegrove
I've emailed Damien re a repeat of the seminar you went to Paul; apparently they will be repeating it with additional items, but the location has not yet been decided. Those interested can put their names forward to him, and he has asked "what distance are you prepared to travel", I put do...

10 words your graphic designer wishes you knew
I came across this whilst reading the Warrington Guardian online. I found it useful, and I wondered if it was of use to any ADAPS members.

Hi Paul
It looks like a real opportunity to learn. I've put my name down for the next class within a reasonable distance.

This is Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, Caribbean. The sea here is crystal clear and very safe for swimming; the large rocks form small tunnels - ideal for for swimming through amongst the colourful marine life. Virgin Gorda can be reached by boat from Tortola (the main island in the BVI...

Re: Tattoos...?
Hi Paul I'm sticking my neck out here, and apologise to any club members with tattoos. As I see it, the problem with tattoos is that they are permanent, and if you change your mind later (as with putting names of lovers on arms...) you are well and truly stuffed (unless you are lucky enough to get a...

Re: A Year of Blogging (NSFW)
Hi Paul I love that fact that you have many more models on your web page, and have included Matt. Two things strike me: - my favourite photo on your previous website was Melissa in black underwear lying on her tummy - that seems to have disappeared - can we have it back? - the web site cycles betwee...

Re: Forum Competitions #116 Textures
Hi Tracey, I agree totally that "constructive feedback" is a much better term - it doesn't imply negativity - and it's much more diplomatic and accepted. Provided it isn't described in a hostile way, I also appreciate being told what's wrong with my photos - that helps me learn (providing ...

Congratulations to you, Denis, for a crystal clear and colourful photo. I'm now looking forward to your chosen subject. The forum competition is great for us beginners to enter; it gives us a subject to think about and interpret, but most importantly to get the valued constructive criticism of the A...

Re: Edit my Image - Matt
I like the skin tones Paul, and what you've done with the eyes. I'm now working on the Scott Kelby technique for "adding more life to the eyes". Thanks for all your advice - I'm putting it into practice .

Edit my Image - Matt
Now that the ball is rolling with "edit my image", I thought I'd post another for anyone who wants to have a go at editing. This is Matt, and I'd be interested in seeing the different approaches to editing this photo.
Cheers, Mel.

Hi Julie,
Thanks for your reply - we must introduce ourselves next time we are both at the club! Gwen (my significant half...) and I sit on the left hand side, on the back row (it's more convenient for nipping to the loo!).
Cheers
