Re: “Sharpness is a bourgeois concept.”
Hi Everyone. Excellent points from all of you. Paul, I've seen the photo on your blog and, no, the lack of sharpness ( which is minimal anyway ) doesn't detract from the image. In any case you could say it was tiny wisps of cigar smoke! In this type of discussion I'm always reminded of the rock phot...

Re: Mobile Phone Photography from New York
Hi everyone.
It looks like the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo to me but I can't see a connection between Hendrix, Bowie & her.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: Christmas Market
That's really good Gordon.
I especially like that you've managed to capture the photo with not too many people around or the traffic being nose to tail as I know usually happens at that spot.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: Cheeky request!
Hi Andy.
Just an idea, but have you thought about buying one while you're actually over there? I don't know what the pound is like against the dollar at the moment, but it might be worth looking into.
Regards,
Phil.

Television Viewing This Week
Hi Everyone. I've noticed a programme on TV this week that might be of interest. We'll all have to set our recorders for it though, as it clashes with the club meeting! It's called " No Body's Perfect. " The write up says: " Top photographer Rankin joins forces with disabled artist Al...

Re: Martin Mere Trip
Hi All.
Some nice images there.
If you want to see Kingfishers I was talking to Phil Barber from Wigan 10 this morning. He says there are loads at Pennington Flash. He showed me a photo of a young one that he'd taken only a few days ago.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: My Road Trip
Thanks John & Paul. The Troutbeck photo I just couldn't seem to get right. It was around 8.00 at night just as the light was starting to fade. I'll have to go back sometime ( fortunately it's the nearest one! ) I don't mind you sorting my photos out Paul; in fact that was what I was trying to do...

My Road Trip
Hi All. I've just completed a 1,035 mile round trip to get 6 photos! I was given a set of placemats by Mum with olden day scenes of 6 English villages. Since I've been on holiday this week I thought how about going to these places, trying to take a photo from the same spots and seeing how much they'...
