TV Viewing This Weekend
Hi All. There's an interesting sounding programme on TV this weekend. " Rankin Shoots Rembrandt " In it he interprets Rembrandt's old-age portraits, attempting to capture the essence of the 17th-century images as he shoots Terry Gilliam, Ken Loach, Zandra Rhodes & Una Stubbs. It's on B...

Re: Forum competition #136 NON STUDIO PORTRAITS
The first time I turned up at ADAPS our Paul introduced me to Terry.
On hearing last week's sad news I remembered he was kind enough to let me photograph him that night.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: TAKE YOUR PICK
Hi Mike.
I'm going to buck the trend & say I prefer the colour version. Maybe it's my eyesight or my monitor, but colour seems to bring out the textures slightly more than the mono.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: Getting to grips with DSLR!
Hi All.
Many thanks for all your comments. It seems to me that I've not quite grasped " thinking " like a photographer yet, but I'll keep practising & hopefully get there!

Phil.

What would you spend £80 on?
Hi All. I've had a refund from my credit card for £80. Unfortunately they won't give it me; I have to spend it! I've got a Nikon D3200 with 18-55 & 70-300 kit lenses. Clear filters for both lenses, a spare battery & a bag to put everything in. So what's the most important equipment I can get...

Getting to grips with DSLR!
I'm slowly getting around the various settings etc. on my new camera so I thought I'd give you a sample to comment on.
If you don't like it, please say so, but explain what it is that's wrong so hopefully I can do better next time.
Regards,
Phil.

Re: Forum Competition #124 "A Day to Remember"
Hi All. My day to remember was last July in Pamplona. This photo was taken at 7.00 in the morning, one hour before the first of the annual bull runs through the tiny cobbled streets. As you can see the party had been going on all night. I've never seen so many drunks in my life & they were prepa...

Re: Forum Competition #122 - "A Blast From The Past"
I came across this while listening to a band playing on the band stand down by Chester's riverside. It never fails to amaze me how the Victorians designed even the most everyday things with such style!

Phil.
