A question ... would we be having the discussion of film transparency vs digital image projection if we had film and digital capture but no image manipulation software? I think the only issue is that we can't get enough slide entries. If the slides were thriving there would be no need for any chang...

I still have the same problem as well, but not all the time. It seems the forum remembers me for some of the time and then suddenly doesn't. When I do have to log in I always have to do it twice. So far there's not been a solution to this glitch, but I'm sure there will be one. I suspect it is a foi...

Here we go again. We seem to have been here before. Don't feel too discouraged, the fact is that it is increasingly difficult to get any slide entries at all, as Keith has mentioned. We really struggled to put together slides for battles this year, very few slides are being shot and other clubs wan...

I think prints should be a major part of our competitions on the grounds of quality and the ability to exhibit them. I also like projected images in that they allow even those at the back of the room to see the detail clearly and would allow those without a printer to join in the competitions. So I ...

The road is quite a decent road these days, so there has probably been a widening scheme at some point. My 1938 guide book (!) told me that the locals had their meals cooked for them at the local bakehouse, there was no mains water but they had the first electricity supply in Cornwall. Things may ha...

Mevagissey

We're just back from a week's holiday based in Mevagissey, a small fishing port on the south Cornwall coast, near St Austell. A good area for exploration and photography, but as always it's the details that make the shots. Small corners of places like The Eden Project are photographically rewarding,...

PS I see that analog is now "film" I still think that "film" and "digi" should be grouped together! I changed that this morning following requests to do so. We do actually listen and act at ADAPS! As for the second suggestion, it's early days yet so it's wait and see h...

When you are ready for the viewing just let me know and an evening can be provided. It just needs things shuffling around a bit.

I like the style of these - the bold design and the deep blacks.

Excellent images, Mark.

What does "better as well" mean John? Ah, Tony, you've got a good point there. I'm going to have to admit now that shooting digital I find better in almost every respect. 1. You can review shots, not after every capture, but enough to be reassured that all is working and the pictures are ...
