Re: Red squirrels Formby
Thanks Steve for the info :-] Went on Sunday and got there for 8:45(ish), went with Allan and Chris (of this Parish  ) Although there are quite a few squirrels around, they tended to stay up in the trees, so we didn't really get anything competition worthy. Still, we had a good day out all-in-...

Re: Red squirrels Formby
Thanks Tracey and Geoff for the info :-] I rang Formby National Trust this morning and they said that the numbers are back up to around 90%! The advice they gave me was pretty much as Geoff said - get there early when they're being fed and before the half-term groups of kids turn up and scare them a...

Red squirrels Formby
Has anyone been to photograph the red sqirrels at Formby recently? I believe they are supposed to be increasing their numbers again after the pox nearly wiped them all out a few years ago. I'm looking at goin up there early morning this coming Sunday, so any info would be of use to save going down t...

Re: Thursday 17th January Adrian Lines Achieving Distinctio
Adrian was fantastic! I had a great evening :). I particularly loved his animal head series, it wouldn't surprise me if someone commissioned Adrian to illustrate a dark childrens book in the near future. Totally agree with the comments that his work shines even more brightly in printed form - his st...

Chris was fantastic on Thursday night, one of the best I've seen in my short time so far at ADAPS, really enjoyed it.

Thank you for the heads-up, but it's specifically the SP VC USD version that I'm looking at which costs around £300.

Re: Which 70-300mm lens should I buy (Nikon mount)
Back to square one! :( I bought a second-hand Nikon 70-300 from LCE in Manchester for £300 (really great shop! :-]), but unfortunately the VR only worked intermittently! So I had to go all the way back to Manc to get my money back. On the bright side though, I got to test the lens out - now thinking...

Re: Which 70-300mm lens should I buy (Nikon mount)
Thank you all for your good advice. I'm even more torn than ever now though!
Was semi-set on the Tamron, but seeing as Bert uses the Nikon I'm having a re-think.
Decision, decisions...

Which 70-300mm lens should I buy (Nikon mount)
I'm very much set on upgrading my 55-200 VR as soon as I've got the money. The main reasons are for the faster focusing and longer focal length, not to mention full-time manual focus override and better build/handling as a bonus. I'm torn between the Nikon 70-300 VR (approx £430) and the Tamron SP 7...

The only thing I took was a shot of one of Atherton's premier properties!
All you guys have done really well. Good work people!
