Re: 13th September 2012 - Out of Africa

Just like to join in with the accolades Tracey. Very impressive presentation and some (lots) super pictures.
Now, if only all the future presenters are as good (and as good looking) as you it will be a great season.

Cheers

Re: PROBLEM WITH NIKON 18-55 LENS

Hi

Looking on Google a few suggestions are:- if your friend has any other lenses are they working? If so camera isn't suspect.
Try cleaning lens/body contacts in case they are dirty. Try switching A/M settings on lens a few times in case of dirt.
Hope this helps.

WIDE ANGLE CONVERTERS

I now have a Canon 550D camera with 17-85mm lens plus 55-250mm. It would be very nice to have a wide angle zoom but the cost of either, say, a Canon 10-20mm or an equivalent Sigma/Tamron/Tokina lens is out of the question even at second hand prices. Wide Angle converters seem to operate like a lens ...

Re: Which 70-300mm lens should I buy (Nikon mount)

I have to agree with John but there is another thing to consider too. The Nikon lens will hold it's value more than the Tamron if, in the event, that you move over to another system or upgrade for another lens for the Nikon. If I had the money I would always go for the manufacturer's lenses. Maybe i...

L&CPU EXHIBITION

In case anyone is interested there is an exhibition of prints from the recent L&CPU annual competition at Manchester Cathedral and as was pointed out at last night's meeting Gill's picture of 'Ben' is the only one on display from ADAPS. It runs until the 15th July so if you are in Manchester bef...

Re: Annual competitions

Hi Theo Good stuff as usual but could I just check up on one thing please? After a visit from Bob Denis ( I think) where he reckoned that Natural History would now include zoo animals in L&CPU competitions I hoped that this would apply to our own Annual entries. It seems to be fair to us who can...

Re: A Note About Usernames

Hi Mike E

Have heard the expression 'talking 'til I'm blue in the face' but hadn't seen an example of it until now.

Suggest that you stop using wode and find another brand of skin cream my friend.

Just wondering Gill.

You wanted us to put a few pictures on a disc for the model but what size do you want please:- e.g. DPI, image size etc.?

Re: DON'T BLAME THE JUDGE ?

O.K. I admit it. When it comes to Gerry I'm biased. He's a good friend (he even offered to drive 250 miles round trip to help me with my Son's wedding recently and that's more than friendship) BUT, for me, last night was as good as it gets when it comes to an evening at ADAPS. Good attendance, loads...

Hi Tracy I echo the thoughts of everbody in saying thanks for all the work involved in the trip which was great and of course the same goes for all of the 'Management team' at ADAPS (creep). Now if only you could organise a field trip on Bank Holiday Monday to a castle in Dumfries where one of the c...

Re: CANON 100-400MM LENS - PROBLEM SOLVED

Hi Folks Many thanks for your thoughts which mainly echo my own. If I manage to get hold of the filter I will bring it over to the club for your perusal. I understand John's comments about putting a piece of (cheapish) glass in front of a very expensive lens being detrimental to the image produced b...
