Re: GOODBYE OLD FRIENDS

If I had taken that photo I'd be VERY pleased. You've captured a special moment and composition Mike.

Re: Forum Competition #122 - "A Blast From The Past"

This was taken at Beamish Museum; I was the first in when the gates opened, and I rushed to the end of the street to ensure that I got a shot of an empty street. I took the shot low down to get a better view, and was pleased with the result after processing it in Photomatix.

Re: Michelle H by Window Light

Hi Paul, I would prefer no.3 if the left hand side was less exposed (how do you control that with natural light - do you make the model turn more to the left, and would this darken the RHS if no reflector was used?). Because of this, I prefer no.1 - the exposure is much better, and the model looks a...

Re: Forum Competition #121 Turn your lights down low!

I took this picture just prior to going to the marvellous feast that had been prepared for us on the lawns around the swimming pool on our recent trip to India. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot SX50 (hand held) on 1600 ISO. I thought that the symmetry created by the reflection of the surface of ...

Re: Extreme Photo Trips

I'd take my Canon 6D, a dozen 32Gb memory cards, and a solar panel charger (assuming you are not going to one of the Poles during the 24 hour darkness months).

Re: Studio Lighting Course

Hi Paul,

I'm really interested in this, but unfortunately we'll be away on holiday (again!) on 5 February for two weeks, so that would mean missing two of the six units of the course. However, if it is repeated later at a suitable date, I will definitely go,

Cheers, Mel

Re: Web hosting sites

Hi Mike, Many thanks for the advice. Paul Jones also recommended Wordpress, and I've been looking at it on my iPad. It's not as easy to manipulate on the iPad, so I'll wait until I get back off holiday before giving it a good go on my desktop PC. It looks to be one of the favourites though at this s...

Re: Web hosting sites

Thanks Paul, Philip and Mrs Sales, I'll have a look at these sites when I get back to Blighty. I have been playing with Wordpress whilst we are away, but an iPad is very limiting and the internet here is slow and intermittent. I enjoying programming too and have been learning a bit of HTML, but I gu...

Re: Web hosting sites

Thanks Tracey, I think your website looks very professional, so don't expect mine to look as good! :-)) But I'll get there eventually, 'cos when I I get the bit between my teeth I'm like a dog with a bone! I'll have a look at the hosting site that you recommend, and make a decision when we get back ...

Web hosting sites

Hi,

I'm toying with the idea of building a website to display some of my photos. I have seen a few hosting sites on the internet that seem reasonably cheap. Can anyone recommend any, based on their own experience? Reliability and speed would be at least two of the attributes required. Cheers, Mel

Re: ADAPS Website 'Photo of the Week'

This week's winner for 'Website Photo of the Week' is Danny Baker
Superb photo Danny, lots of colour and good composition. You must have been up very early to get this shot without people in the scene. A well-deserved winner!

Re: Thursday 21st November 2013 - Paul Jones

Thanks for another great presentation Paul, and for giving us all some useful links. I particularly like the link to the Bowens site - there are some good videos on there which will help me in my studio work. If we are lucky enough to have another presentation from you would you please consider addr...
