We are on our Christmas break from the club and images are all around us so let's go for the obvious subject.

I am looking for a good image that catches my eye whether it is a seasonal cliche or a different take. i will obviously include any of the other winter festivals that members might be celebrating.

I have checked the radio times and there isn't much to distract you from taking pictures!!

Two weeks takes us into 2018 - midnight 3rd January.

Let it Snow! This is an illuminated lantern that circulates the "snow" as it warms up.

Disappointing entry in terms of numbers but not in terms of quality! Perhaps the obvious subject wasn't the best idea :?

It is always harder when there are few entries.

John, Great image, made me chuckle. Lovely exposure and surface detail and I like the sparkly snow which doesn't dominate. You have managed not to obscure the facial features with sparkles.

Chris. I love this image. It is warm and hit's all the Christmas buttons. The Teddy has a great face and I love the rim lighting.

Janice. This is very different to what I expected. Lovely tones throughout and an interesting image. Perhaps the snow is a bit heavy for my taste.

Mel. Another on to make me chuckle. A nice symmetrical image with gentle muted tones and two obvious points of interest in the characters. Just enough reflection in the glass to make it real but not distracting.

Graham. Very nice. Great white detail in the candle and the flame is well held. I bet the robin isn't looking forward to December 23rd!!

Choice time. With only five images it comes down to my personal preference.

1st place Chris Harrison
2nd place Everyone else!!

Happy new year.

Once again lovely competition with some interesting and fun images. considering these images in total have been viewed over 300+ times it was a small entry for such an easy to find subject at this time of year, albeit a busy one. Regardless of that some great images from those who did enter looking forward to the next choice
