#186 Books
#186 Books
Reading is another of my hobbies.
Roald Dahl is probably my favourite author (and he didn't just write for children ).
And so......I'd love to see your interpretations of a book title or phrase from a book. It can be anything you like, but a bit of Dahl-esque humour may just get you a bit further
Deadline - Midnight on Sunday 21st May.

Re: Books
My image is of course inspired by the culinary classic 'Be Bold with Bananas'.

Re: Books
Thanks to all that participated. Some great images, and thankfully (for me) not too many.
Mel: It is indeed an Enormous Crocodile. I love it's position by the waters edge. It would have been even better if his head was facing the camera, although I should imagine he wouldn't be a flexible model! I like the reflection of the sunset in the water too.
Paul: This one made me giggle as it instantly brought to mind a rather strange Dahl story for grown-ups entitled 'Switch Bitch'
I love the vibrant red on the model's lips and nails. And that cheeky look in her eye would make anyone want to be bold with bananas!
Mike: I like how the children are seated on the suitcases and slightly off centre so that the viewer can see that they're on a railway platform. I would have loved to see them both looking at the camera, but I know how difficult it can be directing small children.
John: Another sharp image. the background shrubbery makes the red on the queen's outfit appear more prominent. The image sparks the imagination, I wonder if they're discussing what colour the roses should be?
Stopher002: I like the composition of this image and the fact that it's monochrome. I'd be interested to see how it would work with the gentleman in focus and the foreground blurred. Either way, I think it would look great as a book cover or movie poster.

2nd place: John
1st place: Paul
Over to you Paul.....I'm off to buy bananas....

Re: Books
Thanks Joanne. You've completely thrown me now as I didn't enter expecting to win. I'll think of a subject and come back to you.
Chris (stopher) - a very, very strong image. I like it a lot. But I keep looking at his shoes. I think brogues or another type of leather shoe would have suited the dinner jacket look better.
