Another senior moment today! Forgot to start this off as a new thread. :croll: Thanks to John for reminding me!. OK so it's an image that depicts a Christmas Carol or song, choosing any that you want and the more inventive the better. Closing date Midnight 20th December. Lets see if we can get a few more entries and have fun with our images.

Many thanks to all those who have entered the forum comp. Some lovely and clever images and it has been hard to decide on the winner. I still have a lot to learn and do find it hard to comment on images, but it is yet another good way to learn and to really start looking at an image. I do know what I like and with this and the theme in mind, I have arrived at a decision.

Gerry - A Christmas Carol. A good start to this months entries. I like the feel of this image. Lovely tones and despite the cold snow, it has a lovely warmth to it. A good old fashioned scene and a friendly wave from Santa inviting you into the picture - and leading you down the line of carol singers to the little ‘toff’ at the end. I also like the fact that you can read the signs. Encourages you to really look into the image. A great image of Carol Singers, however it does not give us a Carol or Christmas song title.

Yachtsman – I Saw Three Ships. I like the way the larger boat at the back appears to be shepherding the two at the front. You have captured a nice sky, however, I feel that the right hand side is a little too bright and would also consider cropping some of the empty water space at the bottom. Fits the carol title very well.

Dennis – Oh Come All Ye Faithfull. Well nothing like a Christmas Carol turned controversial! A great idea and I like the way that the overlay has been added to the image to create the Christmas feel. Some nice contrasting colours in this image, and once again a good choice of title for the image.

Donna – Marshmallow World. Had to look that one up Donna! Can see why you chose this snowy scene for this title. The snow is well exposed and you have a nice blue sky. You have chosen to take a wide view of the scene and it may have been better to zoom in and pick out a focal point. Just a little too much foreground for me. However, overall, it is a lovely Christmassy scene.

Adam – Fairytale of New York. Once again a nice fit for the song title. You have some nice detail in the scene overall, however, it is a pity that the tops of the buildings have been cut off. It may have been better to lose a bit of the foreground water to get them in. There is also a rogue branch creeping in on the right-hand side The reddish bush on the left adds a subtle bit of colour to the scene. Something about this image appeals to me – despite the cropped tops.

Bazzasmeg – Walking in a Winter Wonderland A lovely well exposed image, with white snow and soft blue shadows. A nice composition and the outlines of the bare trees are crisp against the snow. However- and forgive me if I am wrong – I cannot see anyone walking in this winter wonderland - but it would be nice to walk there!

Hi Janice
I see from your comments my picture gave the wrong message. It was part of one of my AV shows "Southport Summer Miscellany". If you want to see it in the context it was originally used, you can download it here http://www.mediafire.com/download/eop4l ... y%20r1.exe
Regards Eric.

Well Done Adam.

You were right Janice, there was no one walking in the winter wonderland.
