Thurs 18th August - Visit to the Leigh-Manchester Busway

Post by John Hardman »

The evening will be an opportunity to take images along the Leigh Manchester Guided Busway. The route offers landscapes and different subject matter.

The route begins at Leigh bus station, and joins the guided section at East Bond Street. It proceeds through Leigh and along the converted rail alignment via Tyldesley to Newearth Road in Ellenbrook. A bus route from Atherton joins the route at Astley Street, Tyldesley.

The guided section has stops at East Bond Street, Holden Road in Leigh and Cooling Lane between Higher Folds and Squires Lane in Tyldesley, Astley Street,, Hough Lane and Sale Lane in Tyldesley and Newearth Road in Ellenbrook.

Alongside the 4.5 mile track there’s a shared path that’s designed specifically for use by walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The dedicated path offers an opportunity for the communities to enjoy the fantastic scenery and landscapes the areas have to offer.

Park and Ride is available at East Bond Street and, Astley Street Tyldesley.

As a lot depends on the weather the clubrooms will be open at the usual time.

We plan to meet at Astley Street Tyldesley Park and Ride at 7:00pm.
.
There will be ample parking there or you can even arrive by bus.
