#233 The coast

Thanks Mike for setting me up again.
It gets harder to pick a topic that hasn't been done and may attract entries.
The British have set themselves adrift and shown some pride in being an island so let's see some images of the coast.
Seascapes would work, but so would beaches, harbours, boats and seagulls. Credit will be given for thinking outside the box! Obviously photos of european coasts will still be free of tariffs until the end of the year!!
A generous (British) two weeks takes us to 21st February.

Girvan Harbour, found on the west coast of Scotland, a way south of Glasgow.

Sorry for the late judging. These are my thoughts for what they are worth.....
Mel. Great trio of birds. Lovely rock detail. Subtle bokeh but I don't like the bright flash at the top edge.
John. Busy scene with lots of detail. Nice lead through the centre. Could do with a person for me (possibly falling off the pier for dramatic effect!)
Sue. Nice foreground and sky. The middle bit is a little dark.
Graham. Great idea and unusual view point. Works very well and cheaper than a fisheye!! I like the cabin / carriage (?) on the right.
Eddie. Very nice image. Lots of detail. Judges tend not to like the edge effect but I think that it works.
Daz. Bright image with good strong colour. The detail is all a bit squashed on the right hand side.
Paul. Lovely spot for a sit and a pint! The dominant green colour carried through into the water is a bit unusual for a coastal scene but it works.
Mike. Nice Geological feature with plenty of detail. Difficult to compose with the fence and the space on the left. There is a pale dot in the sea - is that Bill out for a swim??
Anne. Super Viking boat supported by the spear man on the right. Our speaker last week talked about sloping horizons and keeping a mast straight as a frame but I don't think that it works here. Straightening the horizon and letting the boat tilt would add drama (IMHO).
Thank you for your images.
My winner is Eddie. Over to you.
