Why We Choose Our System - Revisited

Over six years ago (November 2012) John Riley put up a post on this forum asking members to explain why they chose their particular camera system. The response was a little limited but now, with considerably more newer members and a further six years down the line, I think that revisiting the topic ...

Re: LOOKING FOR ADVICE PLEASE

Hi Mike, A couple of things from me. a) Have a look at the Lowepro Slingshot. It comes in two sizes, with a waterproof cover, not expensive, with the great benefit of not having to take it off to get full access top your gear. I've had one for some time, initially to carry my DJI Mavic Pro and acces...

Re: Thursday 4th – Battle Ladies vs Gentlemen

Hi Paul - speak soon. Really enjoyed the Gents v Ladies competition. I, too, thought that the Ladies had won and, to be honest, with only four contributors, they took the moral high ground with some simply stunning images. I've been away for some time but I am very impressed by the big general impro...

Re: Thursday 4th – Battle Ladies vs Gentlemen

John/Lesley, What are the parameters for the digital images, i.e. max size, resolution, etc.? I can't make it to the club this Thursday but will be there again on the 27th, and I will, if allowed, be rejoining on the that night at the latest. Would that preclude me from submitting a few entries or w...

Re: Photographic Illusions: The Walkabout Lens

The Fuji X lenses are based on a 1.5x factor re 35mm equivalent focal lengths, so my fast 23mm f1.4 is roughly the age old equivalent of 35mm (34.5 to be exact), etc, etc etc.

Re: Photographic Illusions: The Walkabout Lens

Do we have any fans of prime lenses? When Ifirst got into photography I used my 50mm f/1.8 all the time. It's a pin sharp lens. Now I only use it occasionally. Primarily since my total move to the Fuji X system from my overweight Nikon kit I definitely prefer my Fuji prime lenses. My current outfit...

Re: Nudes - A Serious Question

Paul, I think that you have responded in a mature, balanced way. Those who have chosen to respond have done so, IMHO, in a very mature personal manner and reflect not only the thoughts and ideology of photography as a whole but also to the inclusive, and not subservient to the whim of a jealous and ...

Re: Nudes - A Serious Question

Oh how I have deliberated as to whether or not to post a comment on this topic and then I thought "Why ever not?" Why do people think they have the right to vocalise openly patronising and ignorant comments about other people? Paul's original post reminded me of the recent incident where a...
