With reference to 'fairer' the following: 1) The printing stage is removed, and as already stated the ability to print out what you see on your monitor even when calibrated isn't easy. 2) ... its my belief that an A3 print will always be more eye-catching than an A4 of the same subject so long as s...

Re: Adaps competition formats

There's some good points being raised here. I think the fact that the recent creative landscapes competition slide section was won by the only entry about sums things up for the future of slide competitions. Some of those that have still use slide film, and will be precluded from competitions if the...

Thanks for the replies and poll votes so far. Of course, if the organiser of an external competition (battle) specifies that they want entries submitted as digital files then we either comply or don't enter. That's quite clear-cut. I was really trying to ascertain what ADAPS members feelings are tow...

ADAPS Competitions Formats?

There was a little discussion at Committee tonight about the future formats of club competitions. With the Committee's approval, I'd like to throw this open to the members to gauge some opinions. With a general downturn in camera club members shooting slide film, it's becoming an accepted fact that ...

Hi Keith

Yes, Harry was organising it. He's been in touch with Gem Camera Club of Kalamunda, western Australia - http://wasp.net.au/~raynval/

I'm not sure where he's got with it. We'll have to wait for him to update us.

Best regards

Hi Steve

I've just had another look through your 'Picture A Week' site. There's some really good stuff there and I like the seaside towns theme.

One of my favourite images is the rundown shop in Morecambe. The expression on the lady shopowner's face is priceless.

Re: I confess

So, how many cameras do you own now John? Do you still have the Pentax compact you had at the Christmas party?

John wrote: Now there's a second confession - I had a Fuji camera as well.
There's nothing wrong with Fuji.....

Re: Old Forum

have the posts for the old forum gone for good? Hi Keith Thanks for registering. The old forum is still online, though I have changed all the links on the site to point to this new forum as it seemed unneccessary to keep both forums running. The aim is for everyone to use this one from now on. The ...

I'd also like to thank Mike and John for their efforts behind the scenes in setting up the new forum. :) I've updated the links on the ADAPS website so we should start to see more forum activity over the next few days. I'm reminded back to when we setup the former ADAPS Forum - five years ago! From ...
