One of my first set topics at beginners photography was "rust". There was so much too choose from in our garden . This image was my favourite.

Thanks Philip, I'll have to wait til next week now as matches cancelled as half the team are ill :( I have noticed how quickly the light changes. When I've put the images in the PC I usually have a quick look at the auto settings to give me an idea of what I'm aiming for. Not brave enough to go manu...

At present I use the Intelligent Auto settings for my son's football matches and the images are OK, although sometimes there's the occasional blurring on the football . I've never tried the SCN sports mode. I know this setting does a faster shutter speed, but does it also automatically adjust the ot...

So glad I made notes as each image was posted! :lol: Some great images. I've decided as I'm a beginner, I'm just going to pick my favourite image for it's aesthetics rather than technical judgement. John - Aside from the humour of the image I think it's a rather nice window and I love the brickwork....
