Re: Fotoshoot

They are both great, I particularly like the crop of the second. They are very well lit and shot, and I really like the vignetting....

Re: #173 - Sport

Hi, firstly, thank you to all who wntered. Secondly, apologies for the delay in judging. I've been away and forgot to do it before I went. Janice: I like that this is in the middle of the action and the guy with the egg is fully sharp. The colours are good and I like that the background is slightly ...

#173 - Sport

I know we've had this topic before, but it was a few years ago (and it was posted by me). I'm loving the Olympics at the moment, but I mean this to be sport in as broadest terms possible. I'm looking for action shots, still shots conveying concentration, competitiveness, or just taking part. Any spo...

Re: #172 -Flowers

It was good to see so many entrants and I am honoured to be the winner, than you so much. I will come up with a subject in the morning which, hopefully, as many entrants will be made.

Re: Boudoir, Glamour or what?

It's all interpretation mate, isn't it? The thing is, I don't class either of their photosets as boudior. http://www.christameola.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/christa-meola-boudoir-photography-workshop-006.jpg For instance, for me, the one on the left isn't boudiour, but the one on the right is. h...

Re: Boudoir, Glamour or what?

This is glamour. The subject is aimed squarely at the viewer. Although, she could be in her boudoir, boudoir photography suggests an art style pose in a fitting surrounding with an air of love and lust, rather than a wow, this is fun. For boudoir, the photo airs on the side of the 'oh, I erm, am I a...

Re: THE USUAL COPYRIGHT QUESTION

People do get Morally and Legally mixed up. You wouldn't want to upset them, so, I think of clients as 'Moral' owners of my work, ie i wouldn't do anything morally wrong to them. That said, you legally own, unless you gave them that right. Of course, morally, you can do whatever you want. I think Pa...

Re: #164 - "Portrait of a vegetable"

Sorry for the late judging, but i would like to thank everyone for their entries. John Riley - Deimos John, I'm assuming this was baked the previous evening. It's all in the preparation. I like the textures and the details in the eyes you can see. the lighting is good, up to the right, meaning there...

#164 - "Portrait of a vegetable"

Thank you to Mel for choosing my entry as the previous winner, a fete I have only managed once before. I would like, for this competition, to give you the chance of a photo that is worth upwards of a million pounds. There was a news story about a photo of a potato that was sold for that figure. I'm ...

Re: #163 "Sound"

Mel, thank you for the opportunity to show one of my photos. Having had an incident with all my camera equipment being stored in my boiler cupboard, I'm restricted to my archive of photos at the minute. A bigger thanks for picking me as the winner. I really enjoyed being at the club in August to sho...
