CANON 100-400MM LENS - PROBLEM SOLVED

Hi everbody and Theo and Tom in particular. I recently asked advice on a problem with a Canon 100-400mm lens which you guys gave me help with, even volunteering to buy the lens for about half price. Now have the answer to the problem which, frankly, amazed me. Potted history:- The lens went to Kenya...

Re: August Set subject competition

Hi Theo Just re-read your message and realised that the 'Mike' in it refers to me. What can I say my friend. 'A step in the right direction' or 'one small step for a man but a giant leap for .........'?' Anyway thanks for the mention and you ARE doing a grand job even if we don't see eye to eye on t...

Re: CANON SHOOTS ITSELF IN THE FOOT?

Hi Theo Looks like you didn't get my earlier reply to your first comments. Probably my fault. Had a look on Google at the instruction manual for the camera and on page 33 it says to set the mount to white mark with EFS lenses and with EF to the red dot. Not sure if this does make a difference or not...

Re: CANON SHOOTS ITSELF IN THE FOOT?

Hi Tom Just posted a reply to Theo which is why I hadn't read your comments. It looks as if Canon should be contacted if Wilkinsons don't come up with any ideas but of course one of the major problems is in contacting Kenya. If my third party friend in Southport wants me to go with him when he visit...

CANON SHOOTS ITSELF IN THE FOOT?

Hi all you Canon users out there I thought that you might like to hear a little story (long winded but that's me sorry.) A missionary from Kenya was over here on furlough and some people wanted to treat him to a new lens for his Canon 1000D. As he is an ornotholigst (bird watcher) he wanted a long(i...

Re: Nikon lenses

Cheers John Very interesting question. I was once given a Nikon cap but it shrank in the rain (only way to wear it). As to buying a a Nikon mug!! No thanks - my wife got a couple of mugs from Morrisons recently for 9p each and my tea/coffee still takes the same. Of course you know I was joking about...

Re: Nikon lenses

Hi John

Who is the other Pentax mug?

Good thing that you have got so many Pentax cameras - they need all the help they can get.

Cheers

Re: NIKON LENS HOOD

Hi Paul Thanks for your message. Yes I have considered other lens hoods but so far haven't found one compatible other than on E-Bay of course but was rather hoping that somebody might just have one before I go on that route. Typically a lot of members use Canon or Pentax of course but I'm not sure t...

NIKON LENS HOOD

Hello folks
Was wondering if any of my fellow Nikon members (or anybody else for that matter) might have a spare Nikon HN3 lens hood for sale please - to fit a Nikon 35-80mm lens.

Many thanks

Re: Oliver - Please comment

A long time since I had the pleasure of taking pictures of my 'boy(s)' but this shot surely brings back some happy memories. His expression suggests that he is thinking of just how many times he will have to smile at a camera and 'watch the birdie'. Nice picture my friend and who would dare to criti...
