Re: Photo shoot I did last week

Very, good-looking girl. Nice colours and tones in the first image. I think I prefer the facial expression on the second image, and it would be interesting to see it in colour to decide whether colour or mono works better. I hope you get to work with her again and see what else you can come up with....

Re: kippers

Quite an interesting pattern picture. and the toning is spot on.

The small web version probably doesn't do the subject matter justice.

Re: The New Guardian

The clipping / cutout on version 2 is much better than the original. Sorry to sound harsh though, if you were meaning for it to look as though he really is in the 'forest', then it just doesn't. There's just too many discrepancies between the subject and the background for it not to look fake. If yo...

Got it, thanks.
I didn't really notice it before, but now that you've pointed it out it is an improvement.

I'm struggling to spot the differences between the two images.
What were the comments? And what have you changed?

One of your better efforts, I think, Alasdair.
It has a good air of nostalgia about it.

Re: Waterfall Ashworth Valley photo shoot Friday 29th July 2016

Image 1 is my favourite. Image 2 is good but not as good as the first for the reasons John mentioned. I photographed Katie a while ago before she got the tattoo. I don't mind tattoos too much but here, for a classic nude, I would probably have turned her and shot her from her right side (as in image...

Re: Martin Mere Trip

Good effort Alasdair. But cropping too much can affect the quality. :D

Nice one Andy. Maybe a bit too much wooden post? I'd be tempted to crop some off the bottom. :D

One more thing.... In terms of presentation it might be an idea to show the 'then and now' side by siide, eg:

Re: My Road Trip

Hi Phil The best photos you've taken so far, I think. And I'm really impressed that you've thought of a project and seen it through. Photos 1 and 2 are my favourites. Lovely exposures, good colours, perfect viewpoints. Perfect picture postcards. On photo 4 I would have moved in front of, or to the s...
