Masks

I created a tutorial on creating digital masks in Adobe Elements 10 today. Initially it was for the Pictures to Exe form, however it just struck me it may be of use to non AV orientated digital photographers, it's on Youtube & runs for 13 minutes.

Re: Forum Competition 138-Food Photography

I took this one at a Chinese restaurant in the Lowry Outlet Mall, It was a family meal & shows two of my Grandaughters Corrin & Fedra tucking in. In the unlikely event that I win I may not be around to select the next subject as I will be undergoing major surgery Wednesday. If I win & th...

Beat me to it Janice, I was posting an animal from my shortlist but on second thoughts gone for the candid theme. This a picture of a street beggar & dog in Ludlow.

Re: Forum Competition #135 "Shadows" by Janice Freeman

I have six or seven lamps for sale, there is an AV on YouTube showing six of them & some in the pipeline, the latest effort a "Bogey" (as in Humphrey Bogart) special. Two will be on sale at Jacquline's Vintage in the Royal Arcade in Lord Street after lunch tomorrow, the Kodascope &...

Re: Forum Competition #134 - Slow Shutters

Having spent most of my photographic life trying to keep blur out of my pictures I struggled searching my archives for an image to fit the brief. Then I remembered a visit to Foss Falls in Richmond, when we lived in Leyburn. I know blurred water has been flogged to death, but that is all I could com...

Re: Digitising Glass Slides.

Hi John I've had that suggestion from my AV forum, but I'm restricted to what I have in my photo kit. I have a close up lens for my Panasonic FZ150 & it has macro & manual settings but it went into the gadget bag practically unused shortly after buying it, so I could try that route. After ch...

Digitising Glass Slides.

Not sure if this is the correct section but I'm sure someone will move it if it isn't. I've acquired 50 Victorian 31/4" square glass slides. I thought I might try scanning them to put into an AV show. However, the results I got on my Canon MX925 all in one were not the quality(blurred) I could ...

Re: Forum Competition #132 - Sunset

Unfortunately we missed the end of this comp' & have only just read the comments on our submissions. As with 99% of our photography it provides the butter for our AV bread. Our submissions came from audio visual shows which were joint efforts, for Margaret, her image came from a show made in 201...

Re: Forum Competition #132 - Sunset

This one is from my "Fog on the Tyne" AV show, I managed to get 4 similar shots just before the light went. The building in the foreground is the Baltic Trader Flour Mill now an art gallery, then the millenium bridge, then the Sage centre, then the Tyne road bridge & in the distance th...

Re: Forum Competition #131 Gardens

Looks like we picked the wrong images again, for those lovers of convention, there are two AV shows, one contains my image & the other images from our gardens as seen from ground level by both of us. "Just Tulips" "The Gardens at Stirling Court". Comments welcomed :-d Eric &a...

Re: Forum Competition #131 Gardens

Margaret & I have literally hundreds of garden shots, either ours or gardens visited. From a short-list of 20 I've chosen this one of mine, again from one of my AV shows. It depicts someone enjoying a quiet moment at the annual tulip competition at Constable Burton Hall in Wensleydale. Eric Yach...

Re: Forum Competition #130 - Lighthouses

I wasn't thrilled with the solarising effect, but it's good to experiment and if you're happy with it, that's the main thing. :D[/quote]
It does work better with colour, but that didn't fit.
