Adding Images to PM's

Post by yachtsman1 »

I recently got a PM & wanted to add a couple of images to my reply, but couldn't seem to find how. Found the image icon but this asked for a URL, the images were on my PC, so no URL?

PMs aren't intended for uploading images to, so you'd have to e-mail your recipient and attach the image to that. You can only upload images directly into the forum area.

That seems a shame, I can do that with other forums, is it a server load
problem, what about if the image is on Flickr.

If the image is on flickr, then just copy the address of the image and use the URL as you suggested in your first post.

I highly recomending using dropbox for what you've suggested though (link below), then you can just use a link, but the file is on your computer and in your dropbox cloud private area.

Dropbox is fine for file sharing, so good advice from PhilipH.

Hi All
I use 3 hosting sites, Mediafire being the most used, then Dropbox & infrequently Beechbrook, which is privately run. Been problems reported recently on the PTE forum with Dropbox not accepting Zip files, I haven't had the problem myself, but I don't use it that much. I have around 6GB stored on Mfire.
