Competition #68 cycles
Thanks for that Barry, really appreciated.
This months competition theme is cylces, as spring is approaching there seems to be more and more on the roads. The subject can be old or new, on it's own or in a group, neglected or new. I will let your imagination run with this theme there may even have engines attached.
Happy snapping and the competiton is open until midnight the 01st April.

Re: Competition #68 cycles
Well, the competition closed at midnight last night many thanks for all those that entered.
As one of the newer members and still finding one end of the camera from the other I found all images that had entered of excellent quality and all very different.
So here goes the judging.
Skelee "On yer bike"
Classic image of a Gent and his bike very interesting shot great detail, with subtle blurring in the background the only thing that spoiled it for me are the 2/3 modern dressed people that do not belong their ( but thats not your fault) but overall a great historical shot.
Bert Haddock "Road racers"
Crisp clear action shot great detail, really like the expression on the 2 cyclists with the lead cyclist panting giving it her all and the second cyclist smiling.Well captured.
Pauline Fisher Retro Bicycle. I spent a long time on this image as there is so much to see and read, cracking warm colours and super sharp, top left looks like its over exposed but everywhere else good rich colours.
Keith Richardson "Gold Wing Trikes"
Very dramatic setting with superb grey skyies, trikes showing great detail good shot.
Gerry G "Waiting for a train"
Nostalgic look at bicycles on a platform, pin sharp detail warm colours lots to see in the image and make up stories of what happened to the discarded teddy bear. Angle of the image good. A very good historical image.
Ianuk50 "wirral way postie"
Good to see modern using traditional delivery methods good snap shot, good light giving great detail on the bridge.
Des "Sign on gable end"
Vintage sign that once dawned lots of gable ends great composure good detail and good exposure, good image.
John "Life Cycles"
Very interesting image that grows on you, great strong colours technically very good lots of grain with in the image. An interesting image and very well done post camera effects.
Bazzameg "Two Classics"
Lots of bright work showing off light stars great reflections coming off the furthest away bikes tank, crisp clear composition good light great image.
After a lot of thought, my votes are as follow.
1st GerryG
2nd Stelee
3rd Pauline Fisher
Thanks again for all your images. Gerry I pass the baton on to you.
Kind regards, Wayne
