Re: Competition #72 REFLECTIONS
Well it has taken me a while to deliberate over the result, this is only my second attempt at judging so I hope that you find my comments relevant, here goes.
stelee – Good reflected image but the leaning building distracts a little as does the blown area top left. I would have liked to see more space around the building, easier said than done in that particular location.
Ianuk50 – I love this building and the reflections are great, graduating from bright at the bottom to more muted colours at the top. The blown area top left does draw my eye though.
John – What a lovely expression and eye contact here and such great light. I’m sorry but I keep being drawn to what appears to be a hairy forearm. I wonder to whom does it belong?
Tracey – An impressive low light image with a beautifully reflected portrait, very stylish, I love it.
pammie – This is a lovely tranquil scene with fabulous reflections of a super sky. One to print and put on the wall for sure. What else can I say?
GERRYG - Beautiful, harmonious colours with an excellent ‘required element’. A lovely example of night time photography.
PhilipHowe – Another lovely shot that I could see on the wall in a city office. The colours are great. Is this a genuine reflection or has some ‘shoppery’ gone on here? Matters not it’s a great image.
mancunian61 – I can see that you have put thought and effort into this image, a very creative idea. Difficult task on what was such a bright day. I would have preferred a less distracting background maybe somewhere more muted to give the motorbike more impact.
kevinlowe – Oh yes I love this idea although I find it somewhat worrying, (remind me to sit behind you in future)! We have two for the price of one reflection wise as we also have the one in your glasses. Well ‘executed’ shot.
bazzameg - Great reflections, in the building especially, an image full of interest to the centre and right hand side but maybe a little unbalanced as I find the left less interesting. Maybe a narrower border would work better?
RESULTS
3rd= PhilipHowe and kevinlowe
2nd pammie
WINNER Tracey
Great image Tracey, over to you for the next subject

Thanks Pauline and I'm sure tracey will be back soon from her travels to find this accolade awaiting her!
By the way, not a hairy forearm but something else I think. I suspect a fluffy car door. Not a sentence I type often, it must be said.

Re: Competition #72 REFLECTIONS
Hi all,
With regard to comments on trying to liven up the forum - I've noticed that no one seems to comment after the photo comp and this may be by design but I would like to add my comments as to which were my favourites and why - if that's ok?
My favourite 3 were:
Tracey's - I like the picture within a picure format and the colours
Kevin - for the humour message it gives
John's - for the same reason as Tracey's
I like all the photos but some of them were what could have been expected - that is why I tried to do something a little different - although it may not have worked out as well as I would have wanted
Well done to everyone for their entries
Ann
