The special prize for this competition will be a bottle of your choice, provided you are local enough to collect it! Any standard whisky, gin, Campari, etc., that sort of thing. For non-drinkers a memory card to a similar value. One prize only, for the winner, so get those entries in!
Best regards

Well that was harder than I thought to judge! I have tried to be as honest as I can, and the comments are my opinion only, other may have wildly different views, but is that not the beauty of photography!!
Thanks to everyone for entering.

Janice: Nice lead in lines and good use of depth of field, but I think there are stronger images entered.

Tracey: Good repeating patterns filling frame, interest on thirds.

John: good use of mirroring? strong patterns, think it would stand as an original un-mirrored image.

Yachtsman1: Strange effect with the solarising, as you get. Think the chain is a bit too central (maybe a crop off left side)

Kevin: Nice reflection and interest on third

mancunian1: Strange sky in this image, feel the image is a bit bottom heavy.

Walter: A picture of 2 parts, nice patterns

Sue: The light shades (I think?) look like UFOs Think the image could have been stronger with a crop of both sides.

Bazzasmeg: Nice repeating lead in lines taking you through the image.

Thanks again to everyone for entering, and if one things come out of this for me, I don't fancy being a judge!!!

As I said before this was harder than I expected to judge and that these opinions are my own personal feelings.
So the result is:

1st place goes to Tracey
2nd place goes to John
3rd place goes to Kevin

Congratulations Tracey. Glad I did not have to judge this - there are some very interesting images here. Well done on a good subject Ian and good judging. Bring on the next :)

Thanks Ian - good choice - hahaha...!!!!!

I know what you mean though, I remembe feeling sick when I had to do the judging for the first time, took me hours, writing out comments before actually posting them on the thread, then worrying what people thought about my comments - it was horrendous. But at the end of the day, all judges are different and they all like different things from an image, it's very subjective and that's all you can go off and expect. You did a great job and your comments were valid, it will be easier to do the next time - honest :?

I'll post a new topic asap, best get my thinking cap on.

Tracey
