We don't tend to go out much when the weather is stormy. However, when we lived aboard in the Med' we didn't have any choice. This picture was taken at the lowest point of our sailing life when we were on the brink of losing the yacht. Although in harbour, there was a force 10 gale & the sea outside was breaking over the harbour walls, the place St Cyprian in the Golfe de Lyon. Apologies for the quality of the image, but that was furthest from my mind when I took it.

Many thanks for showing me your storm photos I've enjoyed looking at them and here are my thoughts,
Storm Clouds Brewing- Tracey - Love the sky on this, very dramatic, the lighting on the boats is beautiful,

Stormy Weather - Yachtsman1 - The sea in this photo is choppy and shows a wind is whipping up, a shame that the sky is a little bland.

Red Lion - Alasdair - Nice to see a different approach and a lot of effort has obviously gone into it. Thank you Alasdair for showing us a magical storm brewing.

Approaching Storm another place - Janice- The lighting on this photo is lovely, the sun rays add drama and the boat and figures add a sense of scale. The light and texture on the sand is beautiful.

Storm Over Lake Garda - Ian - Really good capture of the lightning, a nice warm feeling from the street lights gives this a lovely glow.

Storm Over Elgol -John - Another great storm photo, the overcast sky and menacing clouds look ready for a downpour. The sun hitting the mountains gives this a great feel.

Scarborough Evening - Michael - Another great cloud formation. I like the way the sun has picked out the lighthouse and reflected on the water at each side of the photo.

So to the winners - 3rd Place - John

2nd - Tracey

1st - Michael - well done and over to you
Best wishes

Sue

Our image was chosen from another one of our AV shows "Corsica to the Costas", there are a few stormy weather pictures in it. For you AV enthusiasts it's on Mediafire & can be downloaded using this link, it's a 100MB download & a long show, but for the sailing enthusiats or someone contemplating a liveaboard life, an eye opener, warts & all.

Good subject Sue, some wonderful images, and well judged. I love the winning shot. Very Turner-esque in my opinion. Look forward to your choice Michael. I may not be able to enter this next one though as I will be out of the country and probably without an internet connection until end of May. Look forward to catching up on my return.

Thanks Sue for picking my picture. I only entered on the last minute as I forgot the deadline. Just shows that you have to be in it to win it.
Thank too Janice for your comments.

Please bear with me whilst I have a think about the next subject. Have had a re-visit from the flu bug and am coughing for England at
the moment. Won't even be able to go to the club tonight as it would be unfair to everybody having to put up with the noise.

Will set a subject as soon as I feel up to it.
