This is my favourite of the shots I took showing what goes on inside a dishwasher. I used a cold rinse without any detergent and put the Pentax W90 on interval timer, shooting an image every ten seconds. The camera is still going strong!
Best regards
John

Re: FORUM COMPETITION # 150 - WATER
Hi
Thank you for your entries, now for the judging:
Janice - High Force
A nicely composed image with the right amount of movement in the water to not make it too milky nor too static. A nice sharp image with good realistic colours.
Andy - SiDE
I love sunset shots, this has a really nice warm feel to it and the inclusion of the mast gives an added interest to the image. I find the bottom a bit too heavy though, too much darkness. Sorry.
Mike - Water Splash
I like how you have concentrated on the bottom half of the waterfall to keep the focus where all the action is taking place. Again, as with Janice's there is the right amount of movement in the water and this particular image works really well as a mono with good contrast in the darks and light areas.
John - Dishwasher
An interesting subject matter and brave of you to stick your camera into the washing machine, I don't think I'll be attempting that mine. I just wished there was more of a focal point to the image.
Gordon - Keyhaven
Nice textures in the wooden post with good realistic colours. I find the reflection more interesting than the actual post and have looked at this a few times to try and work out why there is a nobly bit on the reflection when there is none on the post, it's obviously the distortion from the waves but has kept me slightly intrigued.
Alisdair - Lake
A nicely composed image and the two people give it scale but I find the image is soft overall and the horizon is a bit lop-sided. Sorry Alisdair, but I can't really include this in the scoring as you have missed the deadline which was midnight on Sunday - Sorry
Now for the judging:
3rd Janice - High Force
2nd Andy - SiDE
1st Mike - Water Splash
Over to you Mike.

Well judged Tracy - and despite having had it before - a good subject. Another worthy winner from some very good entries. I am quite sure Mike will come up with a good subject. I dint know why more folk don't enter this comp, always good constructive critique.

Great choice for winner Tracey! Brilliant image Mike.
I agree with your comments on my shot, soon as I posted it I thought the same thing - was too late then though
Kudos to John for his brave dishwasher-cam! He's now the owner of the cleanest camera in ADAPS.

Thanks for the pats on the back folks especially from you Andy. High praise indeed from the man who consistently
has his images on the picture of the week. This week's being a great one, now on Facebook and getting great praise.
Cheers

Thanks Mike! That POTW Light Waves shot was taken with the 18-200 that you sold me!
Love your waterfall image - hoping to see it again come competition season.
