Re: #169 PEOPLE AT WORK
Well it always happens to me doesn't it? We have a few months with only a few images to judge and then I get ten to make comments
about so thanks a bunch folks.
Have tried to be fair with my remarks but I can't please everybody so here goes.
ALASDAIR
I can see that this is a fireman on the train but sadly I'm not seeing his shovel which would have told the tale better
and he is missing the top of his head. Nice try though.
ANDY
No problem seeing the work here my friend. Just a bit saturated for me which is probably due to the lighting conditions.
JOHN JM
This fits the bill but to be honest my eye is drawn to the fire and I can't make out what he is holding to the flames but you have
made a good attempt with difficult light.
BIG JOHN
This is a good fun shot. I love his expression and maybe he will be doing it for real one day. Not really 'at work' though.
TRACEY
As always you are right on the money. Very colourful, stall holder doing his thing and his customers waiting their turn.
Spot on and well seen.
PHILIP
Lots of atmosphere here. Early morning or night time? Doesn't matter as it conveys a feeling of the hustle and bustle but to
me just doesn't show who is at work.
PAUL
Sorry my friend but am not sure about this one. The figure is on the right with the smoke but my interest takes me to the left
hand side to what appears be gravestones and the rather dark shadows smother the effect of the fire.
MEL
A fine holiday image and they are at work. For me there is perhaps too much space between them and the trees in the background.
Maybe a crop from the top of the image and my eye is taken to the white spot (a bird) in the centre of the picture could
have been cloned out.
JANICE
Ah Janice we can always count on you to have an image for these competitions. I can imagine what the mechanics are doing but
perhaps in this case stepping back a bit to show all of the vehicle would have been better.
GRAHAM
I like this. My kind of title and it fits the picture. On my screen the image is not as sharp as it deserves but it does however convey a man
at his work so well done and THOSE muscles!!
So now I have to make a judgement - just my opinion.
3rd place Mel
2nd place Graham
1st place and winner of course. Tracey
Love the colours. Can even smell the fruit. So well done Sweetheart and over to you for the next one.
