Sleep, dozing, rest, relaxation......not just literally slumbers but all things being chilled and laid back.

The deadline is midnight on Sunday 19th May.

So, the subject is set, the time is known; let's all get to it and have a bumper crop of idle laziness......

Guess this guy qualifies for the title, sleeping in the golden sunlight, oblivious to the fact he could be eaten at anytime by a passing buzzard! Too be honest, I thought he was dead when I first saw him!

The competition is now closed and I'm off for some Golden Slumbers, so in the morning I will select the winner and do the judging!

What a fantastic set of images, and a good number of them as well, so thanks you everyone who joined in!

Paul is obviously the Master of the Boudoir, and his take on Golden Slumbers has a lot to attract us to it. Black and white was a good call also, I'm sure colour would have only distracted from the simple and effective message. Lovely.

Janice's picture has magnificent textures and is also a great monochrome choice. Well within the brief of idling life away, this is a skilled reportage-style shot of someone utterly relaxed, if perhaps also feeling a bit grumpy...

Simon shows us how to power-nap, and this time soft colour fits the subject perfectly. Baby pictures are not easy, but this moment hits the spot.

Sue's snow leapoard shows us just how lazy cats are, big ones and small domestic ones alike. But we're not fooled, one wrong step and they can instantly lash out. This shot has a terrific location and gives us that authentic feel.

Mel is tempting us with soft colour and subtle backlight, another boudoir picture well done and still tasteful. One tiny detail is that perhaps we could straighten the tags on the bra strap and the suspenders. Obviously it needs looking at very closely to notice such details.

Andy is well into wildlife shots these days, armed with his fine 200-500mm Nikon lens and. most importantly, his fine, keen eye for composition and timing. This picture is yet another example of those skills in action.

Chris has found his sleepy seal in a more expotic location and makes the most of it. It fulfils the brief of the competition 100% and is another fantastic shot.

Gordon encapulates feline idleness and also that after dinner lassitude that overwhelmes as the port is duly passed around the table. No doubt the gentlemen have retired to the smoking room, but the ladies are just having a long snooze. Photographically, I really like the sharp textures of the image, which enhance the detail of the setting.

Mike is becoming seriously good at producing images with the “aaah....” factor, and our sleepy lamb does it again. Nicely done!

But...there can be only one....and the winner for me is Gordon Armstrong, with his after-dinner idyll.

Second place, by a narrow margin, goes to Paul Jones. Brilliant image, Paul.

Third place goes to Sue Riley, excellent composition and well chosen setting.

So well done everyone, as looking through these every shot has plenty to commend it. it is just the stuff of competitions that somebody has to win.

Over to Gordon to take the baton and start a new competition!

Oops, I am a bit late checking the results. I wasn’t expecting that in a class field.

Great pictures (John must be getting old to notice the labels on the bra strap😏😏😏).

This time I will check previous comps to select a subject.
