Thank you Mandy for choosing my photo - it would have been a difficult task for me - there were so many good entries. I've decided to choose FOOD photography as the next topic; shortages have been very topical recently due to the corona virus (and I thought toilet rolls might be a bit limiting... ) The closing date is Sunday 31 May at midnight.

Peppers, shot just for the pure joy of the gorgeous red colour. The taste might be equally lively....

Here are my comments on the entries:
Darren :
That dessert looks absolutely delicious – they go overboard on cruises, don’t they (no pun intended)? Good exposure and colour.
John:
Nice capture of a simple set up. The contrast between the red and green makes a very pleasing image. No central focal point, but it isn’t needed. I like it.
Mel:
Lots of colour in this image of the varied fruits – the quality of fruit in Goa is amazing.
Graham:
Wow – never seen a nutmeg like this one! The red colour is striking, and the image is sharp where it matters, with a nice blurred background to focus the eye on the main subject.
Mandy:
A good close-up of a kiwi fruit slice, and the lime green colour matches my kitchen!
Sue Shaw:
Brilliant alternative to what I expected! Made from slices of Mother’s Pride bread dipped in liquid paraffin wax. Nice twist to the competition, Sue.
Sue Riley:
Excellent macro image of a sliced green pepper – it looks so real that you can almost touch it. Great detail, and sharp from front to back.
Thanks for all of your entries – some good efforts here on a subject that can be difficult to get exactly how you’d like it. Here’s my judgement:
Winner: John Riley
Over to you now, John, to choose another topic for us!
