Events at ADAPS for August 2019

Thursday 1st August Appraisal Night

Appraisal Night is here again and it gives us a chance for those images to be appraised by other members. We all are sometimes uncertain what our images look like in front of us on the big screen, so here is our chance. John has asked for images to be brought along on the night. I am sure this will an evening to be enjoyed by all.

Thursday 8th August - Planning the Image - John Riley

This is the 4th Learn Night to be presented by John Riley. In the past we covered Speed, Aperture and ISO and now this will be the opportunity to see it all together as John discusses “Planning the image”. I am sure we will all be grateful if we pick up a few tips.

Thursday 15th August - Gentlemen Evening

Its that time of year when the gentlemen entertain the ladies with a selection of our best images and AVs. Please bring a selection of your work on the evening, or beforehand, to be viewed on the evening and judged by our ladies.

Thursday 22nd August - Our Guest Speaker is Marin Berry from Warrington PS. This is Part 2 of their presentation.

From their website - Warrington Photographic Society has maintained a unique collection of lantern slides, or sometimes referred to as 'magic lantern' slides, from past members of the club. The slides date back to the early days of the club in the 1890's up to the 1960's when production of glass slides ceased as more modern 35mm slide material became available. The collection is a fascinating journey through history and includes a variety of subject not just in the North West areas but throughout the United Kingdom as well as European destinations. This is a digital presentation.

Thursday 29th August - Battle with Prestwich at ADAPS

Tonight we have guests from Prestwich who wish to do battle. This will be a judged competition where we will have the chance to see the best work from both clubs. These battles are enjoyable evenings and we hope to see another good turnout of members
