Does anyone have a fisheye and can I ask what focal length do you have?
Is it prime or zoom?
I've got a full frame camera and I'm thinking of a 8-16, but haven't used one. I have a few ideas of what i will use it for and won't be able to recreate the effect I'm looking for without it.

I'm on a Canon by the way.

You won't be able to find a zoom true fisheye lens - they only come as prime lenses as their are of coverage is 180 degrees. Unless I'm mistaken, I presume you are referring to the Sigma 8-16mm lens - well this has a 114.5 degree(s) view angle, not the 180 degree of a fisheye and is not designed for a full-frame camera. The nearest Canon come to it is their 8-15mm f4L at £1500! They don't do a full frame fisheye - their nearest is the 14mm f2.8L at £2810!

Recently I too have been contemplating a fisheye, the Nikon 10.5mm DX, lens for my D7000, a true fisheye, to do 360 degree panoramas but, because of it's limited use I opted to buy the Tokina 11-16mm DX f2.8 zoom as it complements my 18-200mm attached to the 7000 giving me a range from 11-200mm, versatile enough for my 'holiday camera'.

Thanks Barry, that's all the kind of information I was looking for, as I have no experience of them whatsoever, but occasionally find a photo I like.

For reference, if I had the £1500, at the moment, I'd be looking at something other than a fisheye, and it would involve paying airport tax and travelling a fairly good distance!
