From the L&CPU website:
It is with great sadness we report the passing of a member of Warrington Photographic Society.

Ron Allred APAGB passed away on the 17th December 2015 at the age of 94.

Ron started his love of club photography some 50 years ago at Leigh and District C.C., and then Atherton and District A.P.S.
In the late 1960s, Ron joined Cholton C.C. where, for many years he held several positions until the club eventually closed.

As an L&CPU lecturer and judge, Ron was well known on the club circuit, and for his outstanding services to the L&CPU, his name was added to the Roll of Honour in 1990.

For some years, he ran a night school class at Tyldesley Technical School teaching photography. At the end of his student’s studies, he would point them in the direction of local photography clubs.

Joining Warrington P.S. in 1991, Ron quickly established himself within the club and club competitions with his distinctive genre of monochrome prints. He was always willing to pass on his extensive knowledge of photography to others.

All who knew him will sadly miss Ron; our thoughts are with him and his family at this very sad time.

Warrington PS
Ron has been a member of ADAPS in the distant past, so I have posted this in case any of our older members knew him.
Best regards

John
