I'm unhappy with the image quality of small compact digital cameras, and yet do use them because they are so staggeringly useful.
Any ideas as to a small compact or bridge camera that offers above average image quality?
The other requirement is that it should be able to focus very close in its macro range. 1cm from the front element would be about right.
Best regards

John,
Been very happy with the F30 such that Christine now has an F31 also. Only 6 megapixel but its got me an 8/10 in the comps a couple of times. Macro is good but not sure it goes as close as 1cm.
If you want to try it for a week let me know and I'll bring it down on thursday.
Phil.

I have a Panasonic LX2 that I've been pleased with. Supports Raw and Jpeg.
The optional 16:9 format is interesting too.
Again, not sure that it goes down to 1cm though.

That would be very helpful, thanks!
Thanks also for both the replies so far. The Panasonic was one I looked at and will get some further research.
Best regards
