Developing Kit

Post by Stbourne »

I'm interested in developing my B&W film at home in caffenol and was wondering if any members have any old kit they no longer use and would like to part with for a price.
I have nothing as yet, not even a film can opener so anything will be welcome before I go the eBay route.
Help
Instructions
Lessons

Thanks

Shaun

Shaun, can't help, I'm afraid, except to say that there is a member of the facebook group, Carl Skull, who develops with caffenol, in case you want to speak to someone, I'm sure he would be interested in telling you what he knows.

As I remember, he lives in Hindley or Leigh.

Also, talk to those at the club who have done black and white darkroom processing - Len, Harry, me, Mark, Walter....and probably many others. I'm not sure there's any darkroom equipment still going spare at the club, but I'll have a check in the darkroom on Thursday.
Best regards

Hi again,
Anyone know anywhere local where I can buy fixer (Ilford Rapid) ?
I've got a bag, tank, thermometer, scales & developer chems.
Just measuring jugs, bottles & funnel.

Then the fun begins.

Hi Shaun

Mathers in Bolton are advertising a 1 litre bottle at £11.95 if this helps. Get them on Google or call 01204 522186.

Best of luck

Hi again

It occurs to me that you might also find some of the things you need at Real Camera Co. on 0161 907 3236 as they seem
to be the Mecca for old stuff film stuff including dark room gear.

Fifty years ago when I was in the same boat as you I seem to remember that fixer and stop bath were re-usable so if you
keep a couple of plastic water bottles handy they might come in useful for storage. Big John is the man to contact if
you need any info. He is not just a pretty face.
