There are so many mundane subjects out there that we take for granted. Things that we think will always be there, and then suddenly the demolishers move in and it's all gone. Or a business closes and one day is no longer there. I remember the newsagent who worked under the railway arches in Greengate, Manchester. Bought something there routinely while I waited for the 26 bus. Gone, as are the buses.
I was thinking about this when I was in St Ann's Square today, and this flower stall has been in this corner of the church for the 50 years I've been visitng the city centre. I was about 11 years old when I was first allowed to take a bus into Manchester on my own.
What local things do you take for granted? Do please post an example of something that just might be gone sooner than you think.
