New Brighton Lighthouse
I know this place has been shot by soooo many people but this was my first time there and i think i got lucky with the weather. Had to play the waiting game but with a bag of chips at my side it was well worth the wait

This is not my usual shooting genre so would love some feedback from the regular landscape shooters
Thanks Critical!!

Re: New Brighton Lighthouse
Hi Critical
I'm not an expert on landscape photography but I know what I like and I like these very much. The compositions are spot on, the colours and tones are superb. The lighthouse in the first one pops out at you demanding your attention, with a nice reflection in the water to give foreground interest, the sky is great, as with the second one. The rocks in the second one also give good foreground interest whilst at the same time, leading your eye right into the image to the lighthouse. Fabulous work, I'd be extremely proud if these were mine. Negatives - I can't find any

Well said Tracey, I could'nt have put it better - probably could'nt have said it at all. These are absolutely beautiful images. I really like the colours and tones which - to me - are very different from othersI have seen of this location.

Re: New Brighton Lighthouse
Superb, just perfect. My favourite is the lower one - good use of the foreground rocks to lead the eye into the scene and directly to the lighthouse which is well separated from the sky. Wonderful colours - competition winners for certain (club and salon).

Re: New Brighton Lighthouse
Same here, I'm not a big fan of landscape photography, but the second one is great. As Barry says, the lead in from the rocks is a great angle. I like the tone as well, I think many would have been tempted with black and white and I'm happy to see you haven't.

Re: New Brighton Lighthouse
I'm a big fan of lighthouses and coastal images and these are superb images - both of them.

Re: New Brighton Lighthouse
Wonderful images both of them. Echo Traceys comments.
If anything for me, being super critical here, it would be the very very slight halo around the lighthouse presumably from processing? I'd be super proud to have either image in my portfolio though
