Took this tonight (monday) just having a play while taking some water onboard from the bike ride i think i got in quite close considering i dont like bee's and no macro lens or setting just on aperture setting.

Re: Bee
The focus seems to have fallen more on the flower head and leaves and a wider aperture would have blurred out the busy background a bit more. Considering this was taken 'on the run' as it were and without macro, it has not come out too badly. What is good is to keep the shot as a comparison for when you have the time to set up your camera and see the difference it will make. A brave shot considering you don't like bees! Well done Michael.
PS - I have not managed to get a shot of a bee yet!!!!

Re: Bee
As Janice said good shot considering you weren't set up for it.
I got similar results after I set up the tripod and manually
focused on 1 flower. I sat waiting for ages for bees
wasps etc. the flower was in focus but the pesky insects
were slightly out
Got slightly better results using a single autofocus point.

It's great to see the enthusiasm shown by our newer members. Well done for getting out and experimenting.collier15 wrote: just having a play ...
The photo isn't the best - a blurry bee and a busy background - but top marks for having courage to post your photos for comments.
