Post by AndyB »

Just an attempt to re-size my images then I can get some feedback. Dionne from the Ashley Green photo shoot.

Great black and white tones. My only thought is that I wish she was looking at us with that terrific expression.
Best regards

Hi Andy

I see this is your first post on the forum. Welcome. :D

I echo John's comments:

- Good tones and good expression.
- Though I can understand why you've used it, I find the vignette a bit too heavy.

Thanks for posting and please post more.
Paul

Hi

I may be telling you something you already know, but i agree with Paul lose the Vignette, also if you have Adobe Bridge which comes with Photoshop f you may want to try the following settings.

1. Open Bridge and find the file in Bridge that contains your images and right click on the image, in the drop down box select open with camera raw, (it doesn't matter if it's a raw image or a JPEG or TIFF Bridge will open it in camera raw.

2. A tool box will appearon the right hand side in the toolbox select the 4th tab at the top which is HSL / Greyscale and tick the box that says convert to Greyscale.

3. Then select the 5th tab which is split toning, ignore the top options under highlights and go to the bottom options which is Shadows, under shadows select the saturation slider and take it up to 25 then select Hue and take it up to around 45, i find these settings provide really good toning for black and white images, of course you can tweak the above settings to suit your own taste of the image itself.

Hope the above is useful.

Den.
Kind Regards

Dennis
