FORGIVE ME PLEASE

Post by mikeaspinall »

It's not every day you become a Grandad at 72 years of age so please bear with me if I subject you to a couple more pictures.

This image was taken by my son Simon ( Father of Molly) when the 'delivery boy' said where's your camera. True to nature I
give you both colour and mono so as usual you can take your pick. I just wish that I had taken it then I could have found out
what a Judge would make of it.

Thanks John and Tracey.

Not your usual baby picture is it? Simon is claiming that it's his
composition but really it's down to dumb luck.

I'm leaning towards the mono myself. Reminds me of pictures in magazines
when 'reportage' was in vogue.

Mike, there was a photographer called Brett Harkness who I asked to come to the club a few years back. It'd be worth you looking up his baby photo, which is along the same lines and shows the same kind of reportage look. Personally, I think it's a bit 'much', maybe a bit 'war torn' for the family album! (I don't mean that as a superlative, by the way, it's not shocking, it far from disgusts etc, it's hard to explain, but I like babies beautiful!).

I have a photo of our kids in their incubators and they're pretty shocking.

With this, I don't have an opinion on which is best, but would just like to extend my congratulations to all your family!

Thanks Philip

The 'usual' baby/family pictures are of course in the earlier 'Molly Paige' posting and I can assure that there will be many more
pictures of my Granddaughter to come although not on this site.

This just struck me as 'real life' as opposed to pretty pictures. I don't think that even my Son and Daughter-in-Law would
want it in a family album but as a record of the birth it takes some beating in my eyes.

I appreciate the comments though and many thanks for the 'congrats'

Certainly nothing left to the imagination.. Wonderful shot in my opinion. Yes probably not one for the mantelpiece but certainly a true record of the occasion. Well done, I guess the family are very proud right now ?

Hi again Phil

Have had a look at this guy's website and he is brilliant. His picture is certainly 'in your face' and is powerful.

I have to repeat that I did not take the picture of Mollie. My son Simon who was there at the time (he actually cut the cord) got the
shot but has no interest in photography so it goes to show how lucky you can be. It would be interesting to see if this Brett Harkness guy
was taking pictures of the birth of his own child or if he was doing for someone else.

For the Ladies have attached another image of Mollie (any excuse and as you say a pretty one) at thirteen days of age. I can imagine that Ruth and I will be making the trip to Oldham on a regular basis for some time to come.

Cheers Michael

Mike, it was a photo of his daughter's birth. I did know that you didn't take the photo, as I read your original post, I was just comparing the two.
