Eclipse photos

Post by BydoR9 »

Managed to snap this yesterday morning from a Liverpool roof top. Only had my Galaxy S5 phone with me, so this is digitally zoomed, then cropped. So the quality isn't the best, but I quite like the mood and composition. :-)

I think it's one of the better ones I've seen - the foreground silhouette is unusual and very striking.

The one pity about all the eclipse shots for me is that they could equally well just be a shot of a crescent moon. I'm not sure how this could be avoided?
Best regards

Totally agree John, that's what I thought. Especially as due to having to underexpose it so much to get the sun to register, it makes it seem as nighttime anyway.

Cracking photo, one of the best I've seen, I think the foreground helps rather than just having a photo of the eclipse with nothing else in it to give it scale or tell a story.

Thanks Tracey, glad you like it! Just wish I'd had my DSLR at work that day.
