The Great British Cup Competition

Post by John »

No details yet as Keith has been off-line due to technical difficulties, but I can tell you that ADAPS came third in this prestigious competition, and just a couple of points less than actually winning.

Absolutely fantastic! 5S
Best regards

That's fantastic news. We're getting better and better each time, although without all the hard work and dedication Keith puts in we would probably not do as well. Excellent result. 5S

Hello,
Back online again and slowly catching up with everything.

Here are the results of the images that we used for this competition.

Results:
Cherry Lips - Tracey McGovern - 12
The Look Out - Tracey McGovern - 11
Up Up and Away - Tracey McGovern - 12
Melissa - Gerry Gentry - 15
Street Diva - Gerry Gentry - 12
The Sweep - Gerry Gentry - 13
The Death of Ophelia - Keith Richardson - 12
The Last Farewell - Keith Richardson - 12
Scooter Boy - Jared Hull - 11
Wild Water - Mike Aspinall - 11

Overall results...

1st place Duston Camera Club 124 points
2nd place Doncaster Camera Club 123 points
3rd place ADAPS 121 points

Gerry also won the Best Creative portrait in the Mono section. ( Well done Gerry ).

NB. Because we haven't entered this before we were also able to use some older images.
The difference between this Small Clubs Cup and the Open GB cup is that you need 15 images for the main one and only 10 for this one, and you are encouraged if entering for the very first time, to go for the small clubs cup.

The title 'Small clubs', actually denotes the number of images that you enter, and not as the name suggests, the size of your club.

The marking is exactly the same as the main competition, by the same group of judges. So had we entered 15 images and scored the same cross section of marks, ( average of 12.1), we could well have been in the top handful of clubs in that competition too
......and so to next year!!

Keith.

Well done everyone and especially Keith who I'm sure puts in lots of his time organising these comps.
