A Note About Usernames
A Note About Usernames
It has been mentioned that some members would really like to know who they are talking to on this forum. With so many new members it can be difficult to get to know everyone at the club and a name would help.
When registering, we do like forum members to use their own names if at all possible, but if you must use a nom-de-plume the why not add your real name to your signature? An avatar that actually is you would also help identifying you on club nights.
Then we could get to know you much quicker!

Re: A Note About Usernames
John,
As you know this is something I have been on about for some time, the use of nom-de-plumes makes geting to know people much harder as they have one name on the forum/website and their own name at the club, the use of your own name in my opinion is much more important when entering the comps on the website such as the set subject competition, it annoys me when on the occasions I have judged this comp I am commenting on someone calling themselves something like FLATPANCAKE instead of their real name, it may be ok to use nom-de-plumes on the outside websites but anything as regards ADAPS, members names should be used,
Grumpy old Bert.

Re: A Note About Usernames
Can users edit their current username? Or perhapes request our lovely Paul to rename them?
I would love to see more members with a photograph, because even with names, it is great to put a face to the name.
To upload an image = Under the phpBB logo look for the User Control Panel link > Profile tab > Edit avatar
To add your name to signature = Under the phpBB logo look for the User Control Panel link > Profile tab > Edit signature

Re: A Note About Usernames
Any one can ask me and I'll change their name with pleasure, but I do want to make it clear we are only making a suggestion and not making it a rule.....still, it's a good idea.
Best regards

Hi Janice,
Now I know who you are,
KT,
I have been trying for a couple of hours to download my photo, control panel link profile tab edit avatar , my photo is only 65 x 63 at 72 resolution, but it won't accept it as the file size is to big, or does it only accept good looking people.
Regards,
Bert.
