The skin tones and exposure of the model are fine. However, are we looking at the model or the background effects? It's been done very well, no doubt about it, but does it enhance the image or just distract us?

Personally, I think there's a place for this sort of effect but we do need to be very careful that we're not just doing it because we can. It needs a proper reason behind the use of a technique and in this instance I just wonder if the technique doesn't overwhelm the subject.

As an exercise absolutely fair enough though.
Best regards

Hi, In another post you made, I have commented on the model and the same goes here for me. I don't think the background complements the model at all. If the model was laden with sequins, maybe, but not for me.

Sorry.

The think is, if you get to photo a dancer who is covered in sequins, you already have a backdrop made! You can then impose the dancer, put some words around it and it would look a lot better than any club flyer I've ever had handed to me.

I think you have enjoyed making this image. Combining your studio photography session and practising some image editing, Its a fun vibrant in your face picture. I dont mind the flashing light background. Though I think coupled with the splatter effect it then loses its way. Agree with Phill, given some added text it would have something. A lads birthday card maybe, coupled with a few inuendo lines.
