Sue has prepared a Quick Guide to the basics of Audacity:
Joining Music in Audacity

1)Open Audacity & go to File>Import>Audio.
Do these three stages for as many pieces of music as you need.
2)To move the second piece of music use the two headed arrow tool in the tool bar (in a block of six next to the zoom tool). Move the music from the start of the music to overlap the first piece of music. Do this for all the music that you imported.
3)To play the music from the beginning use the Green Arrow at the top left. To play the music from just before the join, select the “selection” tool (just above the zoom tool) then click on the music before the second piece of music then press the Green Play button. When happy with the music & joins go on to step 4
4)Then go to Edit>Clip Boundaries>Join. This highlights the music in blue.
5)Next go to Tracks>Mix & Render.
6)Then go to File>Export and save in a named folder e.g. “Audacity Music” under the name of the slide show. When the “Edit Metadata” screen comes up just say OK
Please feel free to post oany questions or ask at the club.

As a seven year Audacity user I think I have used most of its features, for those interested I have posted a number of tutorials on YouTube, the links follow. Happy Christmas.
