This combination image comprises the warrior's mask at Sutton Hoo with a rhodendron from the same location. I call the blending of these two things "Alien Beauty".
Best regards

Spotted this while out working so snapped it with my iPhone. It was in a glass case right next to a huge window on the only sunny day this week.

Re: Forum Competiton #110 "Masks"
Thanks to those who entered, I don't know why I enter these because judging is certainly not my strong point. Maybe I never believe I'm going to win? Anyway, onwards...
Janice - Has a lot going for it. I like the mask, I like the fact that the flower complements the colour on the mask, I like the material you've chosen for the background. It's the glasses that bring this image down for me. They detract a lot more than they add, and the reflections and stickers in them I find just too distracting.
John - At ten o'clock on friday night I was flicking through the channels, and 'Knightmare' was on Challenge TV. An absolute must watch in my childhood years. And this reminds me of it. It does have a 70s prog rock vibe to it, the colour is certainly striking. It has impact.
Pauline - I love that you've gone in so close, I expect it can be a difficult decision to ignore the wonderful clothes that are in abundance at Whitby. A great look, definitely an interesting image which captures the attention. I'd have liked her right (my left) eye a tad brighter perhaps, and her nose slightly less bright, but all in all a nice portrait.
Stbourne - A very competent record shot. The reflection in the top right hand corner is slightly distracting me, but that's just nitpicking. Not much else to say really, good shot.
Stu - I've got that mask. That's not me though. I do tend to think that with masks like this, the best photographic avenue to go down is the slightly surreal. So I'd like to see a bit more of the background, what is the horse-man up to? A man in a horse mask is a man in a horse mask. A man in a horse mask waiting for a bus - that's something else
Bazzasmeg - Yep, great. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great record shot, I'm assuming it's behind glass and you've handled that very well. No distractions. I like it.
As there were so few entries, and everyone to my mind has come very close, I'm only going to give a winner, second and thid is evenly distributed between everybody who isn't... BAZZASMEG!
Winner - Bazzasmeg.

Congrats to Bazzasmeg. What exciting subject are we in for next. Some great images again. Mine was actually seen in an opticians window - hence the glasses and stickers! hee hee.

Thanks Kevin, the biggest challange taking this one was getting a clear shot. Glass you can deal with, people are a little harder
