This meeting is on location at Dam House, Astley, the same place as the Heritage Tea Rooms.

They are expecting us to start at 7.30pm, so please be there from 7pm onwards.

We will have access to the top floor, untouched since Victorian times, and some of us will be in our Victorian outfits. It could be just the place for mysterious shots of top-hatted figures, or elegant Victorian ladies, as you wish. There is the old school room up there, plus lots of very old nooks and crannies to shoot images in.

Bring cameras and compact tripods, but be aware that only so many at once will be allowed upstairs. Small flashguns might be useful, although I personally would rely on the gloomy and atmospheric natural light. Afterwards, the grounds are also available for photography.

You are quite right about numbers being limited John - we were asked to limit entry to no more than 12 people in the building at any one time, so we will need to control the shoot carefully.

They will mean 12 at a time on the top floor Mel, but fear not, I have my silver topped cane at the ready to beat off any blackguards that try to exceed the allotted allowance!

UPDATE: I've just had a call from Chris (Naomi's dad); unfortunately, Naomi cannot now attend tonight, due to unforeseen family circumstance. However, we should still have our Victorian models and Caitlin.

I cant tell you just how much I enjoyed last night at The Dam House. Many thanks to all our models and to members for the advice and help and to those who organised the event. I feel as though I have achieved some nice images, however I have also realised just how much there is to learn - but what can fun be had in that learning!

That's what it's all about Janice - glad you enjoyed it - and thanks also to Jared for providing me with technical guidance when I was trying to shoot in low light without flash.

Oh - and forgot to say - thanks to Neil for bringing some useful props, which I used and they helped to improve the composition of some of my photos. You're a star Neil!
