Two questions tonight folks


As I now have an idea of what Raw is;
Is it better to always shoot in RAW or does it only tend to be beneficial if you're wanting to do a lot of editing?

I also now have Photoshop Elements. I want to jump in at the deep end
I have an image of a cherry blossom tree that I want to put on a different background (at present there's a playground and trees). I presume that layers and masks will be used for this. Does anyone know of any YouTube videos that show how to this?

A1: Always shoot in RAW. More flexibility.

Yes. Need to invest time in order to learn.

Hi Jojo, great to see you advancing with your photography and software knowledge. The subject you have chosen to cut-out i.e. Cherry tree is not the easiest subject to start with, especially if it is on a busy background to start with. However never say never. Perhaps you could post a copy of the picture and let the more experienced members see what you are going to be dealing with? They may be able to provide better advice on how to proceed.

I had a quick look at some videos before I asked for help but there were differing views on ways to do it.
I understand it will take me a while, think I'll have it as a little project
