competition #258 an image that works because of colour

I have been thinking about mono and trying some black and white conversions. There is no doubt that some images work much better in black and white but I would like to flip the idea and see some images that work because of colour. It might be a splash of colour that lifts the whole image or it might be about the colour and pattern.
The subject can be anything but the colour should be a major component. I will be flipping my monitor to black and white to judge the effect.

Two weeks takes us to midnight 14th August.

Good luck.

Thank you for your great responses. A real splash of colour.

John; vivid and vibrant. Lovely detail. You have done well to get no damaged flowers in field.
Darrren; lovely colourful flowers. You could perhaps crop out the bottom right corner.
Andy; Reely good picture that fits the thread. Sharp and colourful. I have a whole room that looks like that!
Sue; Good idea that fits the brief very well.
Graham: Fantastic window that shows modern stained glass extremely well and the colour on the sill makes the photo. (It actually looks quite good in black and white!)
Mike; Very clever interpretation and well processed. The colours are actually quite muted compared to some of the others but the story only works because of colour.
Mel; This made me smile. Lots of colour. Slightly messy background.
Lesley; Very well spotted. A simple and effective composition.
Anne; Very opulent and lovely red gold combination.
Sue; Much more fun and colourful than our current masks. Great image.

Difficult choice. My winner is Mike Aspinall.

Over to you Mike.

Well thanks Gordon.

Wasn't sure if this old picture (all of mine are old these days) would be too 'out of the box' or not and with all of the other
colourful shots didn't think it would win.

Thinking cap on for the next topic.
