An ADAPS trip out has been organised for this Saturday, 4 September, at City Airport (formerly known as Barton Airfield). We are meeting up at 11am, I suggest you turn left as you enter the site, and drive as far as you can – this is the less crowded area. The address is Liverpool Road, Eccles, Manchester, M30 7SA.
There’s lots to photograph – last time I went I saw flights of helicopters, gyrocopters, microlights, and light aircraft. Parking is free – plenty of space, and there is a café and a bar (Sopwith Bar & Grill ), and picnic tables for those who want to take their own picnic.
A telephoto lens recommended as well as your shorter lenses. See you there !

“City Airport (also known as Barton Aerodrome) is a thriving general aviation airport located in the City of Salford. With Free Parking, we are open to the general public, and offer a unique location where all ages can watch aircraft take off and land. Enjoy our wide variety of regular events, picnic area, children's play zone and grass viewing area.
Aircraft, Helicopter and Gyrocopter flights and lessons are also available from the Flying Schools based at the Airport.”

Sounds good, pity we can't be with you for this one.
