Competition #16 - Feelings
I've tried to come up with a theme that might challenge your creativity...
This competition theme is FEELINGS.
The brief:
Post ONE photo per entrant that you think conveys a feeling, emotion or mood. Some examples may include happiness, sadness, anger, hatred, frustration, disbelief, shock, hot, cold, calm, panic, etc.
Emotion can be captured in many style of photographs and is not solely limited to portraits. Try to think more laterally. How could an image convey a feeling of contentment, joy or peacefulness; or envy, resentment or danger?
The closing date:
Midnight on Wednesday 18th June.
Over to you...

The Result
Many thanks to everyone who entered. I didn't know what to expect when I chose the theme. You've all tried to fulfil it in your own ways and I've enjoyed looking through the entries.
The results:
Sue
This is a lovely candid shot. I wonder what the groom (?) (the guy with the bald head) is looking at...
John
If looks could kill, eh? Nice one.
Myra
That's cruel (yet funny)
Steve
Another excellent street scene from you. As I've said many times, you never fail to impress.
Pammie
A bold image and the barbed wire is a nice touch. I have to admit that I didn't really get a sense of 'disappointment' from the photo, though I'm sure many people would on reading the notice.
Bert
Very nice family shot.
Bazzasmeg
He's a cheeky chap.
3rd Place: Tracey
The eyes have it. In other competitions this would be a winning shot.
If it was mine I might try a tighter crop (maybe half an inch off the top of his head and again in from the side) to take off some of the highlights and focus more on the eyes.
2nd Place: Des
This was almost my winner.
When I set the theme of 'feelings' I imagined there would be one or two somewhat ethereal images. Des has produced an image that can convey a range of feelings and moods and that can have many uses. Well done.
Winner: Tom
This one jumped out at me.
Feelings. Yes - but which ones? Love? Anxiety? Tension?
What seems a simple image has many undertones. Are they lost in the city? Are they looking for someone? Are they just two lovers out for a walk? The viewpoint, capture and mono treatment all work well.
You are my winner, Tom and I invite you to choose a theme for the next competition.
Please start a new thread in the Images forum, with the usual two weeks closing date.
Best regards
Paul
